Last Day of 2013

03 January 2014

For the last day of 2013 a few of my roommates made a list of "things we want to do in Chicago before 2014" from watching the sunrise over Lake Michigan to a Whole Foods adventure and the Home Alone house. Here is the story…

This is Chicago…at 5:45am…in the freezing rain.
Alliance Bakery, supposed to open at 6:00am, but of course it is NYE, and it opens at 7:00am.

So we continue to drive towards the Skyline and spot this gem!
Croissants for all!

Yum!

Sky is starting to get a little brighter as we drive into the city…

Skyline at 6:20am

The lake.

Some cool Navy Pier shots with Lake Shore Drive in the forefront.

We made it-on the 12th floor of 500 Lake Shore Dr. to watch the sun rise!

Right on the harbor

Friends at 7:00am.

Where is that sun??

Oh wait-there it is!

Running out onto the freezing porch to greet the last sun of 2013!

Chicago at sunrise.

And then a friendly game of pool in the lounge.

Where do you go at 8:00am besides…Salvation Army??

Oh hi there, Prom dresses!

Then onto Whole Foods for some PB making!

Found my future detox, too.

And some "Guac-kale-mole"

Which flavor??

Some Prosecco for good measure.

Why, of course there is a random tooth on the side of Logan Blvd.

So, we should pose with it.

Good morning Logan Square!

Morning Snack: homemade honey nut pb, celery, apples, and…

wineeee

Grabbing some FroYo on our way to…

The Home Alone house!!

(Quick Nap) and now time for the festivities!

Roasted veggie kabobs!

Cucumber sandwiches!

Brie en croute (gluten-free!)

Hello LVC friends!
And work friends!

You ready for this??

Chicago at 10:30pm

Buses=My Worst Enemy

New Year's Eve Bus=VERY friendly & festive bus.

Discovered a chapel in the Catholic Service House (former convent)

Chapel time.
